I am a small-time hobby collector of vintage high-end workstation computers and some other oddities that catch my interest. My collection ranges from around 1990 to around 2006.

In general, I seek to cover what I view as under-preserved niches by collectors. High-end computer workstations powered and piloted many of the engineering developments we take for granted today. However, collections like those of the CHM focus on larger, more unique systems (mainframes, supercomputers, and to a degree consumer systems) and most collectors tend to focus on retro gaming or PC-compatible hardware. These are all good things! But I tend to believe that the middle segment of the market should be better documented. Note that I also intentionally exclude SGI systems from my collection; though they fit this segment exactly, they are rightfully well-appreciated by collectors.

Systems I currently maintain are:

Other, less-interesting systems:

  • Dell Dimension XPS D266
  • Dell Precision T7500
  • Lenovo ThinkPad X220
  • Lenovo ThinkPad W520
